NMHC Supports Multifamily Leaders Creating Inclusive Workplaces with New DEI Toolkit

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) has released a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Toolkit that provides enterprise-level guidance and resources to companies that want to create more diverse, equitable and inclusive workplaces.

The Toolkit, freely available on NMHC's website, offers a five-step process for embedding DEI in organizational culture, focusing on the talent ecosystem. The Toolkit covers:

  • Learning and Development
  • Performance Management
  • Recruiting and Hiring
  • Supplier Diversity
  • Measurement and Adjustment

The DEI Toolkit, produced in partnership with The Cee Suite, LLC, is part of NMHC's nearly two decades-long commitment to promoting DEI in the multifamily housing industry.

"NMHC's DEI Toolkit is our latest product intended to operationalize our commitment to a more diverse, equitable and inclusive industry," said Sharon Wilson Géno, NMHC President. "This comprehensive resource provides multifamily leaders with practical tools and guidance to help them embed DEI principles into their organizational culture and expand the diversity of the industry's workforce."

The Toolkit's modular approach meets firms where they are with resources and tools for each practice area covered. This flexibility makes it easy for companies to use the Toolkit to develop a customized approach to DEI that meets their unique needs.

The Toolkit was produced in partnership with The Cee Suite, a minority- and woman-owned talent management consultancy specializing in DEI. The partnership ensures that the Toolkit reflects best practices and recognized DEI expertise.

The NMHC DEI Toolkit is available on NMHC's website at www.nmhc.org/DEIToolkit.

"By making this resource free of charge," Wilson Géno continued, "we hope to empower industry leaders around the country and to further deliver on our comprehensive DEI commitment."
