Formerly AllerVie’s chief medical officer, Soong will lead the company’s efforts to drive innovation through the advancement of new therapies and diagnostics for asthma, allergies and other related immunological conditions at AllerVie Clinical Research.

In addition to this new role with AllerVie Clinical Research, Soong is currently a physician in AllerVie’s Birmingham practice, formerly known as Alabama Allergy and Asthma Center, where he has worked for nearly 17 years. He is also the section chief of allergy and immunology for the Birmingham Veterans Administration Medical Center. Soong completed his Internal Medicine residency at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, and remained at Yale for his Allergy and Clinical Immunology Fellowship training. He is also the author of numerous scientific-related pieces in the field of allergies and asthma, and his works have been featured in several publications, including the “National Library of Medicine,” the “Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology,” and the “Annals of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology,” among others.
