Indiana’s First Single Campus, Full Continuum of Addiction Treatment Services is Complete

Martinsville Treatment Services located on Recovery Works Martinsville campus

MARTINSVILLE, Ind.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Martinsville’s newest opioid addiction treatment center is now open and serving patients, which completes the Martinsville campus.

Martinsville Treatment Services provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT) on an outpatient basis to adults who have become addicted to heroin, prescription painkillers, and other opioids. The new center is part of the Recovery Works Martinsville campus, which is located at 504 Grand Valley Blvd.

“It is no secret that opioid addiction has had a devastating impact in communities throughout Indiana,” said Martinsville Treatment Services Executive Director Kenisha Peden. “At Martinsville Treatment Services, patients receive the personalized care and compassionate support they need to end their involvement with this dangerous drug, so that they can live much healthier and more hopeful lives.”

The opening of the new center marked the completion of the Recovery Works Martinsville campus, which is the first campus of its kind in Indiana offering a true full continuum of care. In addition to medication-assisted treatment, Recovery Works Martinsville also offers the following services:

  • Inpatient detoxification/withdrawal management
  • Residential addiction treatment
  • Acute psychiatric stabilization for individuals whose struggles with addiction are accompanied by co-occurring mental health concerns
  • Partial hospitalization program (PHP) with nearby supportive housing
  • Intensive outpatient program (IOP)
  • General outpatient counseling

“With the opening of Martinsville Treatment Services, individuals throughout south central Indiana can now access a full continuum of care in one convenient location,” said Pinnacle Treatment Centers CEO Joe Pritchard. “The Recovery Works Martinsville campus reflects Pinnacle’s mission of removing barriers to treatment and providing the customized services that can transform individuals, families, and communities.”

Features of MAT at Martinsville Treatment Services

Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is an evidence-based approach that incorporates prescription medication and therapy. The medications that are incorporated into MAT can alleviate the symptoms of opioid withdrawal, which can make it easier for a person to end their opioid abuse. The therapeutic component of MAT can help patients develop the skills that will empower them to achieve long-term recovery from opioid addiction.

At Martinsville Treatment Services, patients can receive a prescription for either methadone or Suboxone (which is a combination of buprenorphine and naloxone). These medications have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and decades of research has documented their safety and effectiveness for both short- and long term use.

Individuals who receive care at Martinsville Treatment Services also participate in individual and group therapy sessions. Therapy at the center addresses a variety of important topics, including anger management, life skills, grief and loss, responding to trauma, and preventing relapse. The new center also offers gender-specific therapy groups, as well as specialized programming for pregnant women and new parents.
