Trustmark Increases Corporate Giving through the Trustmark Foundation

LAKE FOREST, Ill.--()--National employee benefits provider Trustmark is significantly increasing its commitment to community support in 2022 with a one-time $8 million contribution to its philanthropic entity, the Trustmark Foundation.

This brings the Lake Forest, Illinois-based company’s total 2022 pledge to its foundation to $9.4 million.

“As a mutual company, Trustmark has always recognized the responsibility we have to the communities where our customers and associates live and work,” said Trustmark President and CEO Kevin Slawin. “We are elevating our contribution this year to reinforce our caring culture, a culture based on giving back to the communities we serve. This is by far the largest single contribution to our foundation in Trustmark’s history. The additional donation endows the Foundation at a level that vastly increases the impact Trustmark can make in our efforts to help underserved communities thrive.”

The Trustmark Foundation was established in 1984 to advance the company’s commitment to supporting underserved communities and enhancing health and overall wellbeing. Each year, Trustmark contributes a percentage of pretax earnings to the Foundation. Foundation grants directly support the United Way and community health, safety and education. In recent years specific gifts have been directed toward organizations and charities disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Looking ahead, Trustmark Foundation giving will continue to be guided by Trustmark’s mission to improve health and wellbeing for everyone.

In addition, the Trustmark Foundation supports causes and organizations nominated by Trustmark employees through the Associate Giving Program. Associates, as individuals or as departments, nominate charities where they volunteer or that serve causes especially meaningful to them. In 2021, the Foundation contributed to 65 charities nominated by Trustmark associates.

“We know people in our communities face greater challenges to their health, both physical and mental, than ever before,” said Slawin. “The additional contribution this year furthers our desire to live into our values, support our associates in their volunteer work and fulfill our role in giving back to our communities.”
