Boss Beauties Announces ‘BB Impact’ to Empower Girls and Women at the Forefront of Technology, Leadership, and Creativity

New social impact arm to focus on research and advocacy, global mentorship programs, and funding scholarships for girls around the world.

NEW YORK--()--Boss Beauties, the woman-led global initiative that creates opportunities for girls and women through cutting-edge collaborations with iconic brands, today announced the launch of BB Impact. This new social impact arm will focus on research and advocacy, continuing to build unique global mentorship programs, and funding scholarships for girls around the world through the Boss Beauties Foundation.

Boss Beauties, which is backed by Offline Ventures, Board Member Randi Zuckerberg, Serena Ventures, Female Founders Fund, and global ad agency Wieden+Kennedy, will announce a new advisory board of industry leaders and students for BB Impact in early 2023. BB Impact will also publish its first piece of research in the new year. This will be a global survey of girls and their caregivers, exploring knowledge gaps in emerging online technologies, to help inform policymakers, businesses, and the wider tech community.

Lisa Mayer, Founder and CEO of Boss Beauties, said:

“I am so proud of the global community of women and girls we have built. Now, with the launch of BB Impact, we can continue our mission to support girls everywhere as they design the career and life of their dreams – whether they dream of being a CEO, astronaut, artist, or caregiver. The cross-section of technology, creativity, and leadership offers an incredible opportunity to empower the next generation of women change-makers. We hope Boss Beauties’ new social impact arm will enable women and girls everywhere to further tap into these possibilities.”

Since inception, Boss Beauties has given over $360,000 to scholarships and mentorship programs, funded through its collections and partnerships with household brands. This includes hosting an International Women’s Day Summit in March with the United Nations, Barbie, ESPN, NASCAR, Neiman Marcus, Hugo Boss, and others, while also awarding $150,000 in scholarships. In the same month, Boss Beauties also partnered with Barbie, and has continued that partnership with another collection announcement, collectively donating $250,000 to the Dream Gap Project and The Boss Beauties Foundation, in honor of the 250 careers represented in the Barbie collection.

During the summer, the Boss Beauties team brought together over 30 girls from 14 countries for its Future CEO program to learn about personal finance, marketing and storytelling, public speaking, wellness, and more. BB Impact will look to expand this program each summer, featuring industry leaders and celebrities as mentors and speakers. In addition, starting next year Boss Beauties will host an annual BB Week of Impact, where they’ll encourage the community to serve, and report back their time and impact.

Lila Thomas, Vice-President of Social Impact at Boss Beauties, said:

“In the last 12 months, Boss Beauties has provided over $360,000 in scholarships and mentorship programs for women and girls around the world. We are so excited to build on these programs with the launch of BB Impact. Through cutting-edge research and advocacy, we want to make sure we are providing girls the tools they need to adapt and feel confident in a rapidly changing world. At the same time, we want to give businesses, brands, and leaders a better opportunity to learn their needs. At the core of our brand is the team working every day to build a company that is truly a force for women in the world.”
