Grocer activates donation program to support USO and offers 11% discount to military on Veterans Day

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--()--Southeastern Grocers Inc. (SEG), parent company and home of Fresco y Más, Harveys Supermarket and Winn-Dixie grocery stores, is activating a community donation program in all stores benefiting the USO. Now through Tuesday, Nov. 15, Fresco y Más, Harveys Supermarket and Winn-Dixie customers can donate to the USO by contributing $1, $5 or simply rounding up their grocery bill at the register. Every dollar raised will directly support the USO in its mission to strengthen America’s military members by keeping them connected to family, home and country throughout their service.

Additionally, SEG is honoring America’s military heroes by offering an 11% discount1 to veterans and active-duty military service members with valid documentation2 this Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 11.

The USO supports active-duty military, National Guard and active reserve members deployed and at home, including troops stationed in Eastern Europe as a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and those in Southwest Florida working tirelessly to help residents recover and rebuild in the devastating wake of Hurricane Ian.

With some of the largest veteran populations residing in the five states SEG serves, the grocer has developed a long history of supporting veterans, military members and their families. Since the start of SEG’s partnership with the USO in 2018, the grocer has provided turkeys and sides for 1,400 active-duty military families and donated more than $175,000 to the organization. In addition to its partnership with the USO, SEG also supports local, regional and national military service organizations including Folds of Honor and its mission to provide educational scholarships to the spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service members.
