MEDIA ALERT: Inaugural Small Business Summit Brings Together Calgary’s Business Community for a Day

--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Calgary, AB: In celebration of Small Business Month, and in support of Calgary’s business community, Square, Interac Corp. and Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation (CSEC) are hosting an inaugural Small Business Summit on October 24, 2022, bringing together sport, entrepreneurialism and community for a day. The Small Business Summit is part of a yearlong, multi-phased collaboration between the three major enterprises.

Two hundred Calgary business owners are expected at the event, which will feature presentations from top business leaders about how to futureproof your business, the evolution of e-commerce and more. Jamie Clarke, seasoned expedition leader, motivational speaker and entrepreneur, will be interviewing Ex-Flames Alumni and Stanley Cup 1989 winner Colin Patterson, who will be opening the event. Connie DeSousa, Food Network’s Top Chef Canada finalist and John Jackson, co-owner and co-executive of Char Restaurant Group, will be closing the event.

A fireside chat with acclaimed chef and entrepreneur Darren MacLean will discuss business longevity and how to build a sustainable future. Nicole Matos, President of Rivet Group of Companies and Founder of Oonnie, will tackle the attributes entrepreneurs need today and Lauren Gross, Digital Marketing Lead from The Chic Geek, will share the best ways to build a business brand and community.
