With Illegal Robocalls Serving as the Gateway to Financial and Identity Fraud, What Can the Telecom Industry Do to Shut Them Down?

In an Upcoming Cloud Comms Summit US 2022 Panel Session, iconectiv’s Bob Grant Explores the State of Eliminating Illegal Robocalling and Spoofing, and Service Provider Solutions Helping to Stop It

--(BUSINESS WIRE)--iconectiv:

What:

Illegal robocalls not only are a complete nuisance but, when effective, can serve as a gateway for fraudulent activities. Which is why 75% of calls from unknown or unrecognizable numbers go unanswered, and also the reason why the Federal Communications Commission enacted the SHAKEN/STIR framework mandate for communications service providers (CSPs) across the U.S.

During the panel session – Service Provider Benefits and Burdens: The State of Eliminating Illegal Robocalling and Spoofing – iconectiv’s Director of Product Management, Bob Grant, will join other telecommunications experts to explore the industry initiatives helping to mitigate these spam calls and preserve trust in voice communications.

In addition to addressing the state of illegal robocalls and spoofing, the session will provide insights on methods that communications service providers can use to block many types of fraud and suspicious activity, including one-ring scams, PBX hacking fraud, international revenue share fraud (IRSF), and fraudulent roaming calls to premium-rate services. The session will also discuss why providing intelligence about telephone numbers worldwide is critical for reliably cutting down on fraudulent calls and text messages, the role that actionable data plays in addressing this issue, the ways that caller ID information can be authenticated and verified to ensure businesses and consumers can trust picking up their phones, and more.

Who:

Bob Grant, Director of Product Management at iconectiv, will join other industry leaders during a panel session, including:

- Dmitriy Sumin – Head of Products, AB Handshake

- Anna Potapova – Business Development Manager EMEA, AB Handshake

- Michael Pryor – Shareholder, Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck

When:

October 19, 2022 at 2:15 – 3:00 p.m. CT
