Surgically Clean Air Partners with Bluum to Launch Exclusive Program on Portable Air Purification Systems for K-12 Schools

As students return to classrooms this fall, air quality is a top priority to keep students, teachers, and staff healthy

TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Surgically Clean Air Inc.™ (SCA), a leading premium air purification solutions provider for medical professionals, businesses, and educational institutions, today announced an exclusive program on all its air purification systems for K-12 educational institutions in North America until December 31, 2022.

Schools still have access to federal funds - ESSER III being one of the many available to optimize ventilation through inspection, repairs, upgrades, and replacements to their HVAC systems, as well as installing new portable air purification systems to facilitate better ventilation. According to a recent statement from the White House, in addition to vaccines, boosters, and COVID tests, one of the pillars of keeping schools open is, “helping schools plan and implement indoor air quality improvements.”

SCA’s standalone portable air purification systems are not only powerful, effective, and extremely quiet, but also rely on proven technologies such as CDC-recommended HEPA and activated carbon filters. SCA currently has systems deployed in thousands of schools across Canada and the US.

“The COVID-19 pandemic affected every aspect of our lives for more than two years, but perhaps the hardest hit were children who suddenly found themselves unable to go to school,” says Marshal Sterio, Surgically Clean Air’s Founder & CEO. “School districts have done everything in their power so that children can experience a normal year, but that can only happen if superintendents make air quality a top priority. That’s why we are excited to be working on this program with Bluum to make it more affordable than ever for schools to make their facilities as safe as possible for everyone.”

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) are providing guidance to help schools develop best practices; and the Department of Energy (DOE) has launched the Efficient and Healthy Schools campaign to help schools implement new technologies and approaches to improve ventilation.

"Air purifiers are not just about COVID and other airborne viruses," Bluum Senior Vice President of Product and Partners Andre Vashilko said. "They fight all viral and bacterial pathogens, dust, environmental pollutants such as wildfires smoke, allergens and there is a direct link between air quality and better learning outcomes. We couldn't be more excited to team up with SCA, a top provider in commercial grade, premium air purification solutions for medical professionals, businesses and educational institutions in our efforts to help combat absenteeism and improve academic performance."
