LatinaVIDA Expands Mission Partnering with Organizations to Advance the Next Generation of Diverse Leaders

Organization builds partnerships with companies looking to develop diverse talent from historically underrepresented groups

OAKLAND, Calif.--()--LatinaVIDA, a nonprofit organization, is expanding its mission from inspiring the next generation of Latina executives to advance in their careers to being a strategic thought partner with companies seeking to recruit, retain and promote diverse talent from historically underrepresented groups.

LatinaVIDA achieves its mission in collaboration with corporate sponsors committed to moving their Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives and goals into tangible plans and positive outcomes that move people of color into leadership roles. While LatinaVIDA was originally founded by successful Latina business owners, corporate executives, entrepreneurs and board members, the organization has diversified with the mission to support all first generation diverse professionals.

LatinaVIDA’s values of integrity, collaboration, diversity, inclusion, authenticity, and ganas (Spanish for determination) transcend the Latina community and can be applied to any leader who seeks to take action, step up, and own their career. In the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, many companies have struggled to retain diverse talent.

LatinaVIDA will continue to serve career-minded Latinas and is grateful for the many allies who believe the future of the nation is better with more diverse leaders in every sector. Moving forward, LatinaVIDA will continue to reach out and create alliances with cutting edge organizations who share similar goals and values of creating diverse and inclusive workplaces that include diverse leaders serving at the top.

“As we expand our mission, we are eager to collaborate with organizations who are looking for real solutions to talent development, talent recruitment and leadership training internally,” said Tammy Ramos, J.D., Executive Director of LatinaVIDA. “We seek to strategize with organizations so that they can create an infrastructure that supports a diverse succession plan, a pipeline of diverse talent, and an inclusive company culture.”

Recent data show that the number of Latinos/Hispanic and Asian American CEOs at S&P 500 and Fortune 500 companies has grown over the past decade, however, Black representation at Fortune 500 companies at the CEO level remains stagnant. In fact, Latino, Asian American, Black, and Native American professionals are underrepresented in executive and leadership roles across industries.
