The Standard’s 2022 Volunteer Expo Returns In Person to Pioneer Courthouse Square

The Sept. 8 Volunteer Expo will bring more than 100 nonprofits and thousands of visitors downtown to find ways to better their communities

PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Standard’s Volunteer Expo returns to downtown this year, featuring more than 100 nonprofits at Pioneer Courthouse Square on Thursday, Sept. 8, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Representatives from local nonprofits will be available to connect volunteers with their communities.

“We’re so excited to be back on the Square for our 14th annual Volunteer Expo,” said Dan McMillan, president and chief executive officer at The Standard. "Last year’s virtual experience was a great success, connecting Oregonians with new volunteer opportunities during a time when our community needed it more than ever. And our nonprofit partners still need you, so please join us downtown on Sept. 8."

For more than a decade, The Standard has been hosting the Volunteer Expo to provide ways for volunteers and nonprofits to connect. The Standard has long been committed to supporting organizations that make a positive difference in the community.

Participating nonprofits represent the arts, culture, humanities, the environment, animal welfare, health, human services and more. Some of the organizations include SMART Reading, Big Brothers Big Sisters Columbia Northwest and Cat Adoption Team.

The Standard’s Volunteer Expo is the largest in Portland. This event also kicks off The Standard’s annual Employee Giving Campaign, which encourages employees to support nonprofit organizations or schools of their choosing. Last year, employees raised $5.6 million (including a 2-to-1 match from the company) to support more than 2,200 nonprofits and schools.
