American Water Proudly Recognizes the American Water Charitable Foundation 2022 Water and Environment Grantees

Recipients include 11 nonprofit organizations across Pennsylvania American Water

MECHANICSBURG, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The American Water Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization established by American Water, the largest publicly traded U.S. water and wastewater utility company, recently announced 11 organizations were awarded a 2022 Water and Environment Grant, supporting communities served by Pennsylvania American Water.

The Water and the Environment grant is part of the American Water Charitable Foundation’s Keep Communities Flowing Grant Program, focusing on three pillars of giving: Water, People and Communities. Below is a full list of Water and Environment grantees throughout Pennsylvania.

• Brandywine Health Foundation ($25,000) – Coatesville Outdoor Fitness Center
• Eastern Pa Coalition Abandoned Mine Reclamation ($10,000) – Iron Oxide Resource Recovery for Art from AMD in the EPCAMR Region
• Friends of the Pittsburgh Urban Forest ($11,750) – Tree Pittsburgh Community Tree Adoption & Family Environmental Education Programming
• Lehman Sanctuary ($10,000) – Language of Water Classroom Inclusion Program
• Mt. Lebanon Nature Conservancy ($16,217) – Bird Park Riparian Initiative and Instructional Stations
• North Branch Land Trust ($24,000) – NEPA Riparian Restoration and Education
• Pennsylvania Resources Council ($18,000) – Watershed Pollution Reduction Education and Action
• Pittsburgh Botanic Garden ($10,000) – Water, Water Everywhere Field Trip Project
• Stroud Water Research Center ($14,174) – Restoration of Tributary of Brandywine Creek
• Watershed Coalition of the Leigh Valley ($10,000) – Pocono Mountain School District Cranberry Bog Boardwalk: Reconstruction, Outreach, Curriculum
• Western Pennsylvania Conservancy ($25,000) – Kittanning Rain Garden Project
