Repton School Wins Muddy Stilettos Happiest Boarding School Award 2022

DERBY, England--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Repton School recently announced that it is the recipient of the Muddy Stilettos Happiest Boarding School Award for 2022. The accolades underscore Repton School’s reputation as a positive environment for students of all ages and from all walks of life to learn and grow.

The Muddy Stilettos Awards are designed to reflect the best and most exciting businesses across the United Kingdom, particularly lifestyle and small business recognition outside of London. The Awards have a notable reach throughout the country, with over 765,000 votes being cast among all categories. All independent, fee-paying schools in England and Wales were eligible to apply for consideration in the best schools awards categories. Hero Brown, Muddy Stilettos’ founder and chair of the judging panel, called the award “richly deserved for this excellent School.”

Repton School’s win in the Happiest Boarding School category was the result of unanimous voting by a team of judges after three rigorous rounds. With nearly 600 students, of which 70 percent are boarders, Repton School places a strong emphasis on the care and wellbeing of its pupils. The House system, which encourages students to create a sense of community while away from home, is also conducive to helping boarders feel cared for and part of a family.

The award is not the first for Repton School, having also been awarded the Education Business STEM Award in June 2022. Speaking with regard to the STEM award, Repton’s Head of Science Dr. Stuart Ingleston-Orme noted, “Our full-boarding culture means that departments are open all day, every day to any pupil who wants to use the facilities.” This culture clearly resonated with voters and members of the greater Repton community.
