DHA, Housing Solutions for North Texas, Receives Recognition From the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO)

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO) recognized DHA, Housing Solutions for North Texas, with awards for 2020, 2021 and 2022. These awards recognize members of the housing and redevelopment industry who display excellence in supporting affordable housing and community development.

The Texas Chapter of NAHRO announced award recipients for 2022 in addition to award recipients from 2021 and 2020, following a pause in meetings due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

TX NAHRO recognized DHA for:

  • 2020 - Administrative Person of the Year, Ms. Delbra Henderson
  • 2020 - Management Person of the Year, Ms. Dorcas Barcenas
  • 2020 - Best Annual Report, Very Large Agency
  • 2021 - Best Newsletter and Other Agency Publications, Very Large Agency
  • 2022 - Best Annual Report, Very Large Agency

DHA was also recognized by the Southwest Regional Council of NAHRO for:

  • 2020 - Best Newsletter, Large Agency
  • 2022 - Best Annual Report, Large Agency
  • 2022 - Special Achievement by a DHA Family Self-Sufficiency Program Graduate

The DHA Family Self-Sufficiency program is a voluntary program designed to assist Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) families in becoming economically independent and self-sufficient within a five-year timeframe. The FSS program provides one-on-one support to help families achieve their goals and access resources including education, job training, credit repair, job search assistance, homeownership preparation and more.

DHA is the tenth largest public housing authority in the nation. The agency provides affordable housing opportunities for more than 55,700 people through public housing developments in Dallas and HCV programs across seven counties in North Texas including Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Kaufman, Rockwall and Tarrant.
