NEW YORK – June 30, 2022 – Today, the Yass Prize, in partnership with the Center for Education Reform (CER) and Forbes, announced that the deadline for the 2022 competition will be extended to Monday, July 25. The prestigious $1 million Yass Prize celebrates the country’s education provider which best demonstrates educational experiences that are Sustainable, Transformational, Outstanding and Permissionless (STOP) for all students. In conjunction with the Yass Prize, the STOP Awards initiative will distribute over $10 million to honor education innovators, providers and entrepreneurs that achieve excellence.

“In light of the Independence Day holiday, the expansion of state education policies encouraging innovation and the growing number of amazing submissions we’re receiving every day, we are thrilled to extend the deadline for the 2022 Yass Prize, and will be accepting submissions until Monday, July 25,” said Jeanne Allen, Director of the Yass Foundation and Founder and CEO of CER. “We want to ensure that every education provider that is interested in applying is able to do so.”

“It is an honor to learn more about the countless education providers across the country who put their students first time and time again,” Janine Yass, Founder, The Yass Prize, said. “We are so proud to be able to support these leaders and innovators as they go above and beyond. Our education system is far from perfect, but people like the ones we are receiving applications from are an inspiration. We are thrilled to be able to extend the deadline.”

Established in 2021 to further empower 20 outstanding education providers working tirelessly to support underserved communities and families in the face of the many challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Yass Prize and related awards spotlight innovators in the education space by leveraging an extensive mentorship network to create new opportunities throughout the competitive process and beyond.

Applications – limited to U.S.-based individuals or groups whose work is focused on serving students PreK-12 – are open through July 25, 2022. For more information about the Yass Prize, how to apply, and the incredible education providers who made last year’s list of awardees, visit YassPrize.org.
