MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Muck Rack, the public relations management platform that helps organizations find the right journalists to pitch, report on media coverage and prove the value of their work, has successfully completed a System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type II audit, which is an examination of a company’s information security standards relevant to data security, availability and confidentiality.
The rigorous examination of the security, availability, and confidentiality of Muck Rack's platform shows its integrity, and how it upholds its commitment to customers. The audit was performed by Sensiba San Filippo, LLP (SSF) via Vanta: a compliance and audit automation platform. Developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), a SOC 2 Type II report describes a service organization's systems and whether the design of specified controls meets the relevant trust services categories, and assesses the effectiveness of those controls over a specified period of time.
Greg Galant, co-founder and CEO of Muck Rack, said, “Our customers rely on us to keep their data safe. The SOC 2 certification shows we protect their data and keep Muck Rack’s own systems secure. In an increasingly volatile security environment, Muck Rack customers can be assured that we are adhering to the highest level of security and handling their information with great care.”
SOC 2 is the latest milestone Muck Rack has reached in its effort to ensure optimal data security on its platform. Most recently, the company implemented two-factor authorization to add an extra layer of security to Muck Rack accounts.
