NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DigitalOcean Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:DOCN), the cloud for developers, startups and SMBs, today announced the appointment of Megan Wood to chief strategy officer, a newly-created role and reporting to CEO Yancey Spruill. As chief strategy officer, Wood will be instrumental in driving value-add business outcomes for the company.
“Managing the dynamic process of building and executing strategy is vital to keeping our teams aligned on delivering near and long-term business objectives,” said Yancey Spruill, CEO of DigitalOcean. “Megan’s impact during her time at DigitalOcean and her background in running corporate strategy at previous organizations make her an ideal fit for this critical role to drive organic and inorganic execution at DigitalOcean.”
As the company has grown over the last few years, and with future growth goals in mind, this additional executive position will be key to driving alignment on business strategy and execution. The scope of the chief strategy officer includes, among other things, corporate development, strategy and strategy deployment, business operations, program management, and data analytics.
“I am honored to step into this important role, and I look forward to working closely with Yancey and the executive team to advance DigitalOcean’s strategy and impact on developers and small businesses,” said Wood. “I’m amazed by our company’s success thus far and am humbled to have the opportunity to help grow and shape that into the future.”
