Airbase Strengthens Leadership Team With New VP of Product

The leading spend management vendor adds to their leadership team with the appointment of former Pipedrive CPO.

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Airbase, the only spend management platform that scales with companies from idea to IPO and beyond, has today announced the appointment of Krishna Panicker to the position of Vice President of Product. Krishna will oversee product strategy and execution across the product and engineering organization at Airbase, and work with Founder and CEO, Thejo Kote, to continue the company’s rapid product growth.

Previous to his new role at Airbase, Krishna was the Chief Product Officer at Pipedrive, which he took from being a single to a multi-product company. Before Pipedrive, Krishna led the product development team at Skype, where he was responsible for promoting the company’s efforts to innovate in real time and async communications.

“Everyone at the company is excited about the appointment of Krishna,” said Thejo Kote. “His technical experience, track record of scaling high-performance product teams, and rapid execution will be a great addition to Airbase during this time of rapid growth.”

“Our product is way ahead of the other wannabee spend management vendors in what is shaping up to be a highly competitive category, and this makes it even more important to continue to innovate fast, while others follow.”

Fast innovation is core to the company’s DNA — Airbase recently announced an investment and pilot product with American Express, and a partnership with Silicon Valley Bank. In February 2022, Airbase was ranked the #1 spend management company across multiple categories on G2’s Best Software Products for 2022. The company has a reputation for fast innovation — releasing, in the past few weeks, integrations with 27 HRIS systems, observer policies, and SSO support for all SAML identity providers.

About Airbase:

Airbase is the only comprehensive spend management platform that can scale with your company from idea to IPO. It combines all-inclusive accounts payable automation, software-enabled corporate cards, and simplified employee expense reimbursements. Airbase applies consistent approval workflows across all areas, automates accounting, and provides real-time reporting for all non-payroll spend. Innovative accounting automation results in a faster close, better visibility, and true control. Most companies rely on a combination of siloed software products, spreadsheets, and manual workarounds to pay vendors and reimburse employees. Airbase eliminates the resulting messy tech stack and inefficient processes by replacing products like Expensify and Bill.com. Airbase empowers employees with a uniform approach to spending money, whether that involves corporate card spend, raising a PO, or requesting reimbursement.
