Joseph Gunnar Announces the Addition of Peter R. Serra to Lead its Investment Banking Group

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Joseph Gunnar & Co. LLC (“JGUN”), a leading full service broker-dealer, investment adviser, and investment bank, focused on the emerging growth markets, continues to grow its industry depth and national coverage with the addition of Peter R. Serra as Executive Managing Director. JGUN is excited to add an experienced leader like Peter to oversee our Investment Banking business, focusing on equity and debt corporate finance transactions within the emerging growth and middle markets. Serra brings over two decades of experience in investment banking, capital markets advising and corporate financing to JGUN’s already established infrastructure and further strengthens its twenty-five year foundation of successful transaction execution.

With over $30 Billion of relevant transaction experience, Serra will provide the firm’s investment banking clients with deep expertise in developing and implementing capital markets strategies, including financings of all types, plus strong M&A and corporate development support.

Serra joins JGUN from Encore Advisory LLC, a strategic capital markets advisory firm he founded in 2017 and served as Managing Partner. Prior to Encore, Serra was a Partner and Managing Director at Maxim Group LLC, Director of Investment Banking at I-Bankers Securities and Principal & Vice President at Legend Merchant Group. Earlier in his career, Serra served as a Senior Analyst with Fortune 500 Company KeySpan Corporation (now National Grid) and filled a leadership role in that company’s Asset & Corporate Development Group following a similar role in its Capital Markets Group.

Mr. Serra earned his undergraduate degree from St. Francis College in Brooklyn, NY where he was a Presidential Scholar and graduated Summa Cum Laude, and his MBA degree from Pace University.
