Stasher Celebrates Earth Month with New Impactful Colors in Ocean Forest Collection

The New Collection Helps Bring Awareness and Support Kelp Forests

EMERYVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Stasher, the leading brand of reusable silicone products, launched its newest color collection inspired by some of our most important ecosystems in celebration of Earth Month. This year’s Earth Month-inspired assortment is the Ocean Forest collection, which aims to shed light on the critical importance that kelp forest habitats play within our global ecosystem.

As with past Earth Month-inspired collections by Stasher, 1% of net sales from Ocean Forest will support a high-impact nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting our planet. This year, the brand is partnering with SeaTrees, a program by nonprofit Sustainable Surf that works with communities around the world to plant and protect blue carbon coastal ecosystems like mangrove and kelp forests. A portion of sales from this collection will go directly to this amazing organization to support its efforts to protect and restore blue carbon ecosystems. Through this color collection, Stasher will help fund the restoration of approximately 8,000 feet of kelp forests in Palos Verdes, California.

The Ocean Forest collection will feature five different vibrant colors that are reminiscent of the spaces they aim to protect. The colors include:

Kelp – This rich green color pays homage to the carbon scrubbers of the sea — kelp forests, like the one in Palos Verdes, and all coastal ecosystems collectively have the power to sequester up to 20 times more carbon than land forests

Deep Sea – This deep blue pays tribute to the blue hues of our vast ocean

Sea Urchin – This purple bag is a reflection of the beautiful native species whose population is out of balance due to climate change disruptions. With kelp as a primary food source for sea urchins, more than 90% of ocean forests along the Northern California coast have vanished. SeaTrees works with The Bay Foundation and local urchin fisherman to restore healthy sea urchin populations, ensuring that kelp forests can grow and thrive

Coral – Coral is a critical component to a healthy ocean ecosystem and over the last 30 years, about half of the world’s coral reefs have been lost. Known as the “rainforests of the sea”, coral reefs are the largest living structures on earth and support 25% of marine life

Tidepool – This color celebrates where the shore meets the sea. This coastal landscape has a unique ability to adapt, endure and boast a vast ecosystem of highly adaptable plants and animals
