Satellite Healthcare Enters Southeast U.S., Expanding Access to Industry-Leading Comprehensive Kidney Care

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Satellite Healthcare Inc., a non-profit, top-rated provider of kidney dialysis and related patient services, announced today that it has entered into an agreement that will expand its presence and provision of in-center and home dialysis care to the Southeast region of the U.S. with a majority ownership investment in three dialysis centers in Georgia and one in South Carolina. In doing so, the company will be collaborating with the existing nine physician partners of New Renality, based in Franklin, Tennessee.

Satellite Healthcare, which has attained the country’s highest rate of home dialysis usage among patients with end stage kidney disease, found a match in New Renality’s success in enabling patients to receive their dialysis in home settings. Home dialysis is associated with patient longevity, high quality of life and short recovery times after dialysis, and convenience for people whose health and home environments can accommodate it.

“Satellite Healthcare and New Renality share an approach that prioritizes early, ongoing intervention in a patient’s chronic kidney disease journey, and facilitates home-based therapy should they need to receive dialysis,” said Jeff Goffman, Satellite Healthcare CEO. “We’re excited to now serve patients in Georgia and South Carolina, and deliver to them the innovative, outstanding care that we’re known for.”

“New Renality’s vision for coordinated dialysis care and our focus on innovative technologies have always been centered on empowering patients to receive their dialysis in the comfort of their homes, whenever possible,” said Joe Cashia, Chairman, President, CEO of New Renality. “Satellite Healthcare pioneered and leads the practice of home dialysis around the country, and we’re honored to advance its commitment to deliver the best possible care to more people who need it.”

The closing of this transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including required regulatory approvals.
