SAN FRANCISCO--()--Grace Cathedral welcomes you back home for Christmas to celebrate its 75th annual “Christmas at Grace Cathedral” concert series. Since 1947, Christmas at Grace Cathedral has offered the Bay Area an exceptional tradition to ring in the holiday season, with magnificent music, a majestic setting, and astonishing acoustics.

For the first time in a century, last year the doors of the Cathedral were closed, and the iconic Christmas concert series moved online. This year, the doors open once again to regather and commemorate this monumental milestone. “People yearn for gathering at Christmastime,” says The Very Rev. Malcolm Clemens Young, ThD, Dean of Grace Cathedral. “We are overjoyed to welcome each of you back home to experience the magic of Christmas in our spiritually healing space. Together, we will celebrate the birth of Jesus through majestic song, music and dance.”

The concert series will transport audience members through the magical sounds of Christmas past, present and future. The programming includes a family sing-along, traditional favorite carols, holiday masterpieces, a spectacular brass and organ holiday performance and a live jazz ensemble of soulful holiday music. Grace Cathedral will host performances by renowned musicians including The Bay Brass, Destiny Muhammad, Leon Joyce Jr., Tammy Lynne Hall, Brown Sturgis & Brown, Ron Belcher, Presto! Interactive Opera and Soprano Rabihah Davis Dunn.

The 2021 Christmas at Grace Cathedral Concert Series Schedule Includes:

A Cathedral Christmas 75th Anniversary - December 11, 12, 18 and 19, 3:00 pm | December 21, 7:30 pm - In the grand tradition of the great cathedrals of Europe, the Choir of Men and Boys accompanied by full orchestra and organ will transport you with their exquisite performances of favorite carols and holiday masterpieces—a beloved San Francisco tradition.

A Brass and Organ Christmas - December 13, 7:30 pm - A consortium of the finest musicians in the Bay Area pairs the wonderful sound of brass with Grace Cathedral’s 7,466-pipe organ for a spectacular holiday performance – a musical highlight of the year.

Sing You A Merry Christmas: Family Sing-Along - December 11 and 18, 11 am | December 21 to 23, 3 pm - Sing along with your favorite Christmas carols as the toys of St. Nicholas’s workshop leads you on an extraordinary journey, filling children, young and old, with the joys of the season. Festive for families!

Soulful Joy - December 20, 7:30 pm - Experience a new sound for the holidays at Grace Cathedral! Led by Destiny Muhammad and her cool, eclectic Sonic Ensemble of Bay Area Masters: Leon Joyce Jr., Tammy Lynne Hall, Brown Sturgis & Brown and Ron Belcher. The feeling of jazz, a hint of storytelling – reflecting and reimagining the holiday spirit with music and sacred movement. Soulful Joy!
