Hunter Point Capital Hires Melvin Hibberd as Managing Director

Firm Continues to Expand Investment Team with Key Hire

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hunter Point Capital (“HPC”), an independent investment firm focused on taking minority stakes in middle-market alternative asset managers, announced today that Melvin Hibberd will be joining as a Managing Director to lead the firm’s investment team.

Based in New York, Mr. Hibberd will be responsible for HPC’s investment processes and transaction execution. Mr. Hibberd joins from The Blackstone Group after a seven-year tenure and brings extensive investment experience to the firm. Most recently, he was a Managing Director and a Member of the Investment Committee in their GP Stakes business.

Prior to Blackstone, Mr. Hibberd was an Associate at KKR & Co., as well as an Associate at Goldman Sachs. He received an MBA from Harvard Business School in 2011 and holds a degree from Cambridge University in Engineering. Mr. Hibberd will begin his role at HPC in January 2022.
