The Standard Promotes Kevin Erdahl to Assistant Vice President, Employee Benefits Underwriting

PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Standard Insurance Company (The Standard) announced today that Kevin Erdahl has been promoted to assistant vice president of Employee Benefits Underwriting.

In his new role, Erdahl will assume full leadership of and responsibility for underwriting of the company’s employee benefit products, including medical underwriting functions.

Erdahl started at The Standard in 1994 as an associate underwriter in Employee Benefits. During his career here, Erdahl has held multiple leadership roles with increasing responsibility. Most recently, he was second vice president of risk management for Employee Benefits Underwriting with responsibility for the western and central region underwriting teams and is serving as the business owner for medical underwriting systems.

“Kevin has proven to be a strong leader with a deep understanding of risk, customers and the employee benefits market,” said Foon Lew, vice president and Group Actuary at The Standard.

Erdahl received his Bachelor of Science in economics from Portland State University and a Master of Business Administration from Marylhurst University in Marylhurst, Oregon.
