BTIG Fixed Income Credit Hires John Phillips to Strengthen Emerging Market Debt Sales Team

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BTIG announced today that it has hired emerging market debt sales specialist John Phillips as a Managing Director to join the firm’s Fixed Income Credit division. In his new role with BTIG, he will report directly to Michael Carley, Sr. and Darren Haines, Managing Directors and Co-Heads of BTIG Fixed Income Credit.

Mr. Phillips has more than 25 years of industry experience. He was a Director within Emerging Market Debt Sales at BTIG earlier in his career. Prior to rejoining the firm, he was a Managing Director within Emerging Market Debt Sales and Trading at Seaport Group, where he spent seven years. Previously, Mr. Phillips was a Director within Emerging Market Fixed Income Sales and Trading at Newedge Securities USA. He was also a Senior Vice President within Debt Sales at Cantor Fitzgerald. In addition, Mr. Phillips held various roles in New York and London within Global Markets and Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch, where he spent over a decade.
