SCAN Adds HealthCosmos to 2022 Medicare Advantage Provider Networks in Arizona and Nevada

LONG BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SCAN Health Plan is adding HealthCosmos to its Medicare Advantage plan networks in Arizona and Nevada. As a result, SCAN members in the two states will gain access to nearly 2,500 primary care physicians and 15,000 specialists affiliated with HealthCosmos when SCAN launches in Arizona and Nevada on January 1, 2022.

“We look forward to working with HealthCosmos to expand the high-quality, affordable care options available to our members in Arizona and Nevada,” said Sherry Stanislaw, general manager of SCAN Health Plan. “HealthCosmos shares SCAN’s commitment to keeping older adults healthy and independent, which is why we’re proud to partner with them as we build robust, senior-focused provider networks in these two states.”

HealthCosmos, an affiliate of Imperial Health Plan of California, Inc., delivers coordinated care through its network of primary care physicians, specialists, hospitals, urgent care centers, ancillary services, imaging centers, and pharmacies. Its physicians and professionals have expertise in managing populations with diabetes, cardiovascular disorders, congestive heart failure and coronary artery disease, among other diagnoses.

“We are excited to collaborate with SCAN in delivering high value care to our members, enabling them to be well in body, mind and spirit while helping them achieve their potential,” said Giuletta Rudon, senior manager for Network Operations for HealthCosmos in Nevada and Arizona.

SCAN Health Plan is a division of SCAN Group. The expansion into Nevada and Arizona— the first time SCAN has expanded its reach into two new states simultaneously— is a key element of SCAN’s major growth and diversification initiatives.

SCAN recently announced several new business initiatives, including Welcome Health, a start-up geriatric primary care medical group that will treat older adults through a combination of virtual and in-home visits, and Healthcare in Action, a new medical group that will provide healthcare and other services to individuals experiencing homelessness.

SCAN also recently announced a series of strategic investments in outside companies that share its mission to support healthier aging.

Members can enroll in one of SCAN’s health plans in Arizona and Nevada with HealthCosmos for calendar year 2022 starting on October 15, 2021. Other provider groups are also available in SCAN’s network.
