Governor Kemp and goBeyondProfit Celebrate First-ever Business Generosity Week

ATLANTA--()--Governor Brian Kemp has proclaimed the week of Sept. 20 the first-ever “Business Generosity Week” in Georgia, recognizing goBeyondProfit, its business members, and other business leaders who have played a pivotal role in supporting the community through recent years. As the needs of Georgia communities increased, Georgia businesses stepped in to provide vital services, materials, and funding, while adapting business models to care for people, fellow businesses, and communities.

“Without fanfare or recognition, many of you [business leaders] stepped in and helped your fellow business owners survive, and you've helped your employees and your customers stay safe,” Governor Kemp shared at goBeyondProfit’s recent CEO Forum. “The reality is that businesses touch and better our lives every day and sometimes we don't give credit for that enough. With your leadership – between the employer, the employee and the community – that is really the backbone of what I think is the American dream. And it is certainly a key ingredient when it comes to our state's success.”

Governor Kemp headlined a goBeyondProfit CEO Forum honoring business generosity and the milestone of reaching 1,500 goBeyondProfit members who have committed to corporate generosity and improving people’s lives. goBeyondProfit began in 2018 as an invitation to every Georgia business to take a simple aspirational pledge. It has grown into an impressive statewide alliance of CEOs from companies of all sizes operating in Georgia – from start-ups to Fortune 500s – committed to making a meaningful positive impact across the state, the country and the world.

“We’re honored to celebrate Business Generosity Week with the Governor and fellow business leaders,” said goBeyondProfit founder and Jackson Healthcare CEO Rick Jackson. “Seeing businesses step up through these catastrophic times has been particularly affirming to those of us who advocate for generosity as vital to the health of businesses and the community.”
