Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center Upgrades to Modernizing Medicine’s EMA® EHR System

The high-volume, multicenter orthopaedic practice continues to be at the forefront of innovation choosing modmed® Orthopedics to transform its practice and improve patient care.

BOCA RATON, Fla.--()--Modernizing Medicine® has been selected by Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama to upgrade its practice technology and help improve patient care across its six offices.

Andrews Sports Medicine chose EMA®, the award-winning EHR system from Modernizing Medicine, because of features designed to support a successful, high-volume orthopaedic practice. Beyond clinical care, Andrews also serves as a multi-education and training center facility, making the efficiency of its technology paramount.

With 22 physicians, 9 extenders and 10 fellows using the orthopedic software system, documentation and patient workflows need to be performed at peak levels for the practices to continue providing cutting-edge sports medicine care.

“We are constantly looking for new ways of improving patient care. The staff found the Modernizing Medicine system easy to use with robust functionality that would help enhance the doctor-patient experience while also helping to optimize and streamline our business,” said Lisa Warren, CEO at Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center. “With more time to focus on patients, we see this investment as much about providing superior patient care as it is about keeping ahead on technology innovation and provider satisfaction.”

In 2022, the Birmingham practice is planning a move to a new, custom-built location. Ms. Warren explained that they aim to use insights from modmed® Orthopedics to identify new workflows that could influence the new office’s design.

“As we move forward with new construction plans, we’re excited to see how Modernizing Medicine’s technology will evolve our workflows and how these new patterns might influence the redesign of our clinic’s floor plan,” Warren said. “We are also looking forward to achieving new practice efficiencies and improving the healthcare experience for our patients.”

Modernizing Medicine is showcasing the award-winning modmed Orthopedics at booth #3825 during exhibit hours at the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) 2021 Annual Meeting in San Diego from September 1st-3rd.
