PQ and National Silicates Announce Price Adjustment

MALVERN, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--PQ and National Silicates today announced that their respective U.S. and Canada Silicates businesses are increasing prices effective September 1, 2021, or as contracts and agreements allow.

This price adjustment is driven by the significant increases in raw materials, energy, and transportation costs.

“As we emerge from the pandemic, we are facing unprecedented increases in raw materials and other key inputs driven by higher demand,” said Michael Chan, Vice President and General Manager of PQ’s Americas Silicates group. “This price adjustment is necessary for us to continue to offer the high-quality products and services our customers demand.”

PQ and National Silicates will be increasing both list and off-list pricing in the U.S. and Canada, respectively. The pricing increase ranges from 10-20% or $0.015 per pound (USD) for standard liquid sodium silicate grades and $0.05 to $0.25 per pound (USD) for specialty grades.
