SOMERSET, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SHI International, one of North America’s largest IT solutions providers, generated a record $5.5 billion in revenue in the first half of 2021, growing 5% year over year. The company again finished the first half of the year with a strong June, up 15% over June 2020, which was also a record month.

SHI’s Professional Services division saw the most growth within SHI, more than 25% year over year, while Public Sector business jumped above 18% and the Commercial sector grew more than 16%. Security was a top priority in the first half of the year, rising 16% amid new cyber threats and a dramatic increase in employees working remotely. “Longtail” IT asset management solutions – SHI’s offering to address all vendors within a customers’ environment – was up 8%.

Overall revenue was well-balanced across SHI’s main product and services categories. End-user Longtail and Data Center solutions led all individual categories, each representing 20% of SHI’s total revenue for the quarter, followed by End-user Workplace (17%), and Security (14%).

“To be on pace for another record-breaking year is a testament to the value customers see in our solutions and the relationship they enjoy with the SHI employees who deliver those solutions,” said Thai Lee, President and CEO of SHI. “As we continue to expand both domestically and internationally, we see growing demand for professional service solutions that support ambitious digital transformation initiatives. SHI and Stratascale are working together to guide procurement and IT managers through every step of their journey with the world-class customer service they depend on.”

SHI took another step in global expansion in June, adding an office in Sydney. The new office joins regional locations in Hong Kong and Singapore as part of SHI’s 20-year presence in the Asia Pacific region and moves SHI closer to its customers in Australia and New Zealand.
