Behavox Deepens Commitment to Japan in New Partnership With Nomura Research Institute

Partnership broadens Behavox’s reach in delivering data insights solutions that protect the country’s -- and world’s -- largest enterprises from illegal, immoral, malicious corporate misconduct

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Behavox, which uses AI to deliver insights that protect enterprises from corporate crises and company-ending events, today announced a partnership with Nomura Research Institute (NRI) to support the growing demand for Behavox’s compliance and conduct solutions in Japan.

The partnership is the latest strategic step that Behavox is taking as part of its long-term investment in the Japanese market. In October 2020, the company opened its office in Tokyo and named Taro Togo as managing director of Behavox Japan. These developments help Behavox support growing demand from new customers while ensuring greater support for existing clients, including some of the country’s -- and world’s -- largest banks.

“Behavox is extremely excited to serve the Japanese market,” Togo said. “The partnership with NRI helps Behavox deepen its commitment to Japan and scale our business in supporting a growing number of financial firms and enterprises. NRI is forward-thinking and well-respected in Japan’s financial services industry. We look forward to working closely together to deliver on our commitment to our customers.”

NRI is a leading think-tank and systems integrator in Japan with extensive experience implementing global solutions. The partner will provide consultation and implementation support to Behavox’s Japanese customers, share information on conduct risk in Japan, and help Behavox AI by sharing data and annotating Japanese content.

“As remote work becomes the norm and the workplace continues its expansion from analog to digital, there is a growing interest in conduct risk management in Japan, especially among financial institutions,” said Kazunori Hiroi, Department Head, Global Financial Solution Business Department, at NRI. “Behavox is a leading company in this field with a proven track record of implementation at financial institutions in Europe and the United States. With NRI’s consulting and IT services practices, we will jointly contribute to the advancement of conduct risk management in Japan. We are pleased to have entered into this partnership.”

Whereas many regulated financial firms’ compliance teams historically tend to focus on mitigating non-compliant behavior, such as market abuse, insider dealing, or collusion, there has been a gradual shift in recent years toward also addressing non-financial misconduct, such as harassment or discrimination in the workplace.

Behavox and NRI see a sizable opportunity for Japan to become regional leaders in utilizing data insights to protect their businesses across a vast spectrum of misconduct.

“At its bare essence, Behavox is an insights company,” Behavox CEO and founder Erkin Adylov said. “We deliver insights that help firms protect their business, leaders, and employees from corporate crises and company-ending events. We are enabling Japanese organizations to identify illegal, immoral, and malicious misconduct. We are grateful for NRI’s partnership. They too believe firms have a moral right to protect their operations and corporate cultures from insider threats who jeopardize the integrity of their businesses.”
