BlazeSports America Calls for Speakers for National ParaSport Conference

Annual ParaSport Conference Final Call for Subject Matter Experts

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BlazeSports America, a nonprofit organization founded after the 1996 Atlanta Paralympic Games and a leader in the field of adaptive sports and recreation, announces the final call for speakers for their upcoming ParaSport Conference. The National ParaSport Conference, which will take place outside of Atlanta from October 14th-15th, will focus on bringing together industry leaders in parasport from across the country. The deadline for session submissions is Thursday, July 15.

“As the world returns to normal, we are beyond excited to host our annual BlazeSports National ParaSport Conference in person this year,” states Dawn Churi, Executive Director of BlazeSports. “Our conference focuses on building core competencies in adaptive sports and recreation and we are looking for speakers who can provide unique industry expertise on a variety of subjects within the realm of adaptive sports.”

The conference will follow the theme of Coming Together - Moving Forward to focus on how the industry can continue to grow and improve the community for both providers and athletes. Pre-conference certification will start on October 13 and will feature two new certifications, an Adaptive Rowing Coach Certification and a Certified Adaptive Sports Coach. Both certifications are the first of their kind.

The full conference will offer six tracks that will connect major areas in parasport, as well as reflect current trends. Session submissions should fall under one of the following six tracks:

  1. Certified Adaptive Recreation and Sports Specialist
  2. Veterans – Programming for Veterans with Physical Disabilities
  3. Best Practices: Future Directions, Adaptive Sports, Community Programming & School-based Programming
  4. Coaching Youth Development and Sport (Physical Literacy and the American Development Model
  5. Inclusion: For Youth with Physical Disabilities in Sport and Recreation Programs
  6. Recreation: Developing Successful Adaptive Recreation Programs.
