Valmont Coatings Wins Four Excellence in Hot-Dip Galvanizing Awards

OMAHA, Neb.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Valmont Industries, Inc., a leading global provider of engineered products and services for infrastructure development and irrigation equipment and services for agriculture is proud to announce that Valmont Coatings, a business segment of Valmont Industries, Inc., won four Excellence in Hot-Dip Galvanizing Awards.

The annual awards, presented by the American Galvanizers Association, recognizes projects that utilize hot-dip galvanized steel in a creative, unique, innovative, or monumental manner. A panel of architects and engineers reviewed over 100 projects completed in 2020 to select winners in 15 categories. The Valmont Coatings projects showcased the sustainability and longevity of hot-dip galvanized steel.

The Industrial Category recognized Valmont Coatings - Virginia Galvanizing and Weldon Steel for contributions to a new enzyme spray unit in North Carolina. Hot-dip galvanizing provided a sustainable solution to corrosion control for an environmentally conscientious company.

Winning the Artistic Category is a tribute sculpture to the Norse God of Snow at Breckenridge Ski Resort. Valmont Coatings - American Galvanizing has worked with world renowned Sculpture, Andy Scott, on several projects over the years and we are thrilled this impressive creation was selected this year.

The Duplex Systems Category highlights projects that specified dual protection of a paint or powder coated finish on top of galvanized steel. This year the award was presented to Valmont Coatings - Miami Galvanizing with partners All Pro Fabrication, and Emerald Construction for the Lauderhill Mall Transit Center.

In the International Category, Valmont Coatings - India received their first AGA award for the Exotic Aviary Geodesic Dome. The geodesic dome structure is the first of its kind in India and was built with crossing steel pipe members creating an open air experience for the inhabitants and visitors to enjoy.
