LegalZoom Appoints Adobe, Inc. CFO John Murphy to Board of Directors

Murphy to Lead LegalZoom’s Audit Committee

GLENDALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--LegalZoom.com, Inc. (“LegalZoom”), a leading online platform for legal and compliance solutions, has appointed Adobe, Inc. Chief Financial Officer John Murphy to its board of directors. Murphy began his tenure in June and will serve as an independent director, chairing LegalZoom’s audit committee.

In his role, Murphy will help to oversee the company’s financial performance and compliance with the financial and ethical regulations that apply to public companies. He will review the company’s future SEC filings and earnings releases as well as provide oversight and evaluation of its external audit firm, internal controls environment, and risk management program.

Murphy has held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Adobe, Inc., since April 2018. He formerly served as the company’s Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller.

Prior to joining Adobe, Murphy served as Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller of Qualcomm Incorporated. Additionally, he held leadership roles with DIRECTV, including Senior Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer as well as Vice President and General Auditor. He has worked at several global companies, including Experian, Nestle, and Atlantic Richfield (ARCO), in a variety of finance and accounting roles.

Murphy has served as Director of DirecTV Holdings LLC and is on the Corporate Advisory Board of the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. He holds an MBA from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California, and a B.S. in Accounting from Fordham University.
