KinderCare Helps American Families Get Vaccinated

Centers nationwide to offer free day of care while parents and guardians get their COVID-19 vaccination

PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today KinderCare Education® announced that it is supporting the national COVID-19 vaccination efforts by offering families a free day of child care so that they can get vaccinated. Families can take advantage of a free day of weekday care now through July 2 at any of KinderCare’s more than 1,600 centers and sites nationwide, as well as free Saturday care at select locations in the month of June.

“Getting vaccinated is one of the best things we can all do right now to reduce the spread of COVID-19, keep our communities safe and ultimately help families return to a sense of normalcy,” said Tom Wyatt, CEO of KinderCare. “We’re so proud to help support the national goal of getting 70% of U.S. adults at least one shot by July 4. We don’t want a lack of quality child care to hinder families from getting vaccinated and are committed to help remove that hurdle and support our communities when they need us most.”

All KinderCare centers operate with enhanced health and safety protocols that were created in partnership with the CDC and expert medical advisors to ensure KinderCare classrooms are the safest learning environments possible. And these practices are working: KinderCare’s center transmission rates are just a fraction of the national average. A Yale University study confirmed child care centers are among the safest places for children due to the stringent protocols in place.

KinderCare provides best-in-class curriculum to help children learn and grow. National studies show that KinderCare children are better prepared for first grade. They also confirm that the longer that children are enrolled in KinderCare programs, the sooner they achieve key developmental milestones.

Families with children between the ages of six weeks and 6th grade (12 years old) may sign up for a free day of weekday care at KinderCare centers across the country. In June, KinderCare will also offer free care on Saturdays at select centers for families who are unable to schedule vaccination appointments during weekdays.
