Appgate Announces Three Executive Leadership Promotions

Jason Garbis Promoted to Newly Created Role of Chief Product Officer; Kurt Glazemakers Promoted to Chief Technology Officer; and Jeffrey Nord Promoted to Chief of Operations

MIAMI--()--Appgate, the secure access company, today announced several promotions within its executive leadership team: Jason Garbis, who has served as Appgate’s Sr. Vice President of Products has been promoted to the new role of Chief Product Officer; Kurt Glazemakers who was the Sr. Vice President of Engineering has been promoted to the position of Chief Technology Officer; and Jeffrey Nord, who has served as Sr. Vice President of Operations now assumes the role as the company’s new Chief of Operations.

In the newly created role of Chief Product Officer, Jason Garbis is responsible for leading strategy and lifecycle for the company's security products – from concept and development through launch and customer adoption. Garbis has more than 30 years of product management, engineering and consulting experience at security and technology firms, including serving as Vice President of Products at Cryptzone prior to its acquisition by Appgate. In addition, at RSA he focused on their identity management and governance products. Garbis recently co-authored the book Zero Trust Security: An Enterprise Guide and is also co-chair of the Cloud Security Alliance’s (CSA) SDP Zero Trust Working Group, where he helps lead research and publication initiatives.

Kurt Glazemakers is a technology leader with more than two decades experience in security, networking, cloud and virtualization and has served as Appgate’s Sr. Vice President of Engineering since January 2020. Glazemakers is renowned for his extensive knowledge of agile software development, especially in Software-Defined Network and cloud. Prior to joining Appgate, he served as CTO of CloudFounders, a developer of advanced private cloud technologies and served as Terremark’s CTO Europe (now part of Verizon), where he was responsible for the development of the Enterprise Cloud IaaS offering.

As Chief of Operations for Appgate, Jeffrey Nord is responsible for leading Appgate’s global operations, IT and GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance) teams. Prior to the firm’s spin-out from Cyxtera, Jeff was the SVP of Service Delivery for Cyxtera’s colocation business. Prior to that role, Nord held leadership roles at Verizon where he led the integration of Terremark and Verizon’s Cloud and Managed Services business units into a single, global operations organization. His team of more than 1,800 employees were responsible for service delivery, customer support, infrastructure engineering and change management across Verizon’s broad portfolio of cloud and hosting services.
