“Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom” Returns to Television

Iconic program returns to RFD-TV in its original Sunday night time slot

OMAHA, Neb.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Long before the days of the internet and online streaming, families gathered around their television on Sunday evenings and tuned in to “Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom.” It was a simple and magical time.

Beginning this Sunday, April 4, the magic of “Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom” is returning to television on RFD-TV. Airing each week in its original time slot of 7 p.m. CDT, viewers will enjoy the original episodes, including updated content from Peter Gros, co-host of the original Wild Kingdom.

“I have such fond memories of my time filming the original Wild Kingdom with Marlin Perkins and Jim Fowler,” said Gros. “I look forward to continuing their legacy by educating a new generation about the importance of protecting our natural world.”

According to Keith Clark, Mutual of Omaha senior vice president of brand management, Wild Kingdom holds a special place in Mutual of Omaha’s history, as well as its future.

“When we announced our new logo in November of 2020, it was no coincidence that it featured a lion,” Clark said. “Our logo embodies our rich Wild Kingdom heritage while also reflecting our mission to help protect our customers and what’s important to them. Getting Wild Kingdom back on television is just the first step in an exciting revitalization of this important brand asset.”

“RFD-TV is all about family-oriented programming, and we are so proud to be able to have Wild Kingdom anchor our new Sunday night, prime-time lineup,” said Patrick Gottsch, founder and president of Rural Media Group. “Those who grew up watching Wild Kingdom have such fond memories of seeing the world through the eyes of Marlin Perkins and Jim Fowler. On behalf of RFD-TV's millions of excited television viewers and digital audience, I want to thank Mutual of Omaha for making this iconic series available again."
