Cannabinoid Research Organization Announces Crowdfunding and April 2021 Benefit Concert to Celebrate Charlotte Figi’s Legacy

Rock the RoC, Presented by Realm of Caring, to Become Flagship Event for Cannabinoid Research and Advocacy in Memoriam of Charlotte Figi

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Realm of Caring (RoC), a nonprofit dedicated to cannabinoid research, educational programs and community advocacy, launched a crowdfunding campaign today featuring the artwork of Shepard Fairey’s Studio Number One ahead of the inaugural Rock the RoC tribute concert on April 7, 2021. The benefit event celebrates the life of Charlotte Figi, the young medical cannabis patient who started a movement after gaining national attention in 2013 through Dr. Sanjay Gupta’s CNN series special WEED highlighting “medical marijuana refugees.”

Charlotte, who had found years of relief from severe epilepsy symptoms through cannabinoid therapy, represents the millions of individuals who use cannabis and hemp to improve their health and quality of life.

“Charlotte's sudden and tragic passing at the age of 13 on April 7, 2020 is a heavy reminder that life is precious and the dignity of choice is critical for empowering people to improve their health. Charlotte’s legacy became a foundation of education, research and patient advocacy. One that grows its sphere of influence to an ever-expanding circle of individuals, families, scientists and industry leaders as they journey toward a more healing future,” said Heather Jackson, Realm of Caring’s Co-Founder.

To support the inaugural 2021 event and the community that Realm of Caring serves through cannabinoid research and education initiatives, RoC is seeking corporate sponsors — 1,000 donors to contribute $1,000. The call reaches all corners of the industry, brands and businesses that believe cannabis and hemp are a force of change and understand that support is needed to shift the course of compassionate care for the world. Individuals can get their free ticket and make their tax deductible gift through RockTheRoC.org.

With featured performances and appearances by CNN’s Dr. Gupta, The Avett Brothers and other luminaries, this curated virtual event will bring people together from all over the world to inspire, educate, celebrate and #RocktheRoC.
