Securian Financial Names George Connolly Executive Vice President

ST. PAUL, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Securian Financial has promoted George I. Connolly to executive vice president, Individual Solutions, reporting to Chris Hilger, chairman, president and CEO.

The Individual Solutions division includes Securian Financial’s Individual Life, Individual Annuity and Wealth Management Group businesses, as well as their related wholesaling functions.

“George’s promotion to executive vice president recognizes the importance of his role leading our Individual Solutions businesses, as well as the positive impact he has made on this organization for the past three decades and the broad respect he has earned from those he works with,” said Hilger.

Connolly has served Securian Financial for more than 30 years and has led the company’s broker-dealer, Securian Financial Services, for more than 20 years. He was promoted to second vice president in 1998, vice president in 2005 and senior vice president in 2007. Shortly thereafter, he was given the additional responsibility of leading Securian Trust Company, and in 2012, the management of Securian Financial’s Career Distribution area was added to his responsibilities.

“While I am certainly honored by this recognition, it also reinforces Securian Financial’s commitment to delivering quality products and services to individual consumers,” he said.

Connolly is a member of the board of trustees for the American College of Financial Services and serves on its executive committee. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Johns Hopkins University.
