Innovative Financial Media Outlet Real Vision Appoints New President

Travis Kimmel Brings Deep Experience Managing Technology Teams to Raoul Pal’s Financial Media Group

NEW YORK--()--Real Vision, a fast-growing financial media outlet with an audience of hundreds of thousands and tens of thousands of paying subscribers, today announced the hiring of experienced technology executive Travis Kimmel as the next president of Real Vision.

Real Vision began operations in September 2014 and has been mainly funded by subscription revenues. In its sixth year, the company’s audience has continued its explosive growth, doubling its paid subscriber base in the past year. Further, since launching Real Vision Crypto in November, the company has nearly doubled its on-platform viewership. To continue its growth, Real Vision has raised $30 million entirely through investments by its community of high net worth members.

Kimmel comes to his new role with years of experience managing large, cross-functional teams, serving previously as CEO of top 100 YCombinator startup GitPrime. After co-founding the software development management startup, Travis grew the business’ revenues at more than 300 percent per year at 86 percent gross margin, exiting the business at a $180 million valuation despite only raising $13 million in capital. Kimmel oversaw approximately 80 employees at the time of his exit.

In his new role, Travis will work closely with Real Vision’s co-founder and CEO Raoul Pal and the company’s other founders and executives to continue to accelerate the growth of its subscriber base, building on its foundation of content and the community of thousands of users already devoted to using and contributing to the platform.

I have been amazed to watch the progress Real Vision has made since it began, building out a new model for sharing in-depth content about financial markets,” said Mr. Kimmel. “I am extremely excited and pleased to help the company build on what they have already achieved and move on to the next phase.”

Unique in the industry, Real Vision brings together a community of experts in financial markets, economics and trading for long-form discussions around investing and financial topics to provide unparalleled insight for Real Vision subscribers. Content includes exclusive, in-depth interviews, research, documentaries, analysis and trade ideas from guests who are usually inaccessible and represent the sharpest minds in global finance. User engagement on the platform has been extraordinary, with 83 percent of users watching full videos that average 48 minutes in length.

Travis is the perfect person to take on the role of Real Vision president and he arrives at the perfect time,” said Raoul Pal, Co-Founder & CEO of Real Vision. “He possesses the internal drive and, most importantly, the leadership skills that will be required as we embark on the next stage in the adoption of the model we are creating.”
