CuriosityStream Taps Industry Veteran Brandon Fong to Oversee North American Distribution and Media Partnerships

SILVER SPRING, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CuriosityStream Inc., (NASDAQ: CURI), the leading global factual streaming service and media company, has named industry veteran Brandon Fong to the role of senior vice president and head of North American Distribution. Fong will focus on driving the continued expansion of CuriosityStream’s popular factual entertainment brand and streaming service across all North American markets including streaming media platforms, broadband service providers/MVPDs and wireless carriers.

In this new role, Fong is charged with securing and negotiating new distribution deals and developing strategic business relationships as well as strengthening existing partnerships with diversified growth opportunities, brand-defining content licensing deals and new marketing channels.

Most recently, Fong was senior vice president of Digital Business Development at STX Entertainment, responsible for distribution and monetization efforts as well as the launch of new STX-branded franchises on social networks, OTT platforms and MVPDs. He executed content partnerships with Snap and Verizon Media Group and drove strategic relationships with Facebook, Amazon, Dick Clark Productions and Jukin Media.

Prior to that, Fong was vice president, Video Business Development, for Time, Inc., overseeing partnerships with well-known brands including Amazon, Hulu and Comcast. He also held similar roles at the Game Show Network and Starz Entertainment.

Fong holds an undergraduate degree in economics from Cornell University and an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
