BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ori, the provider of multifunctional, robotic-powered space saving solutions, today debuted a brand-new product, Pocket Office, a transformable home office space solution. The new design builds upon the company’s established smart space technology that caters to the evolving needs of apartment renters and condo owners and increasingly includes flexible solutions for the prevailing work-from-home movement.
The Pocket Office allows users to transform any room into a dedicated workspace with the push of a button. Featuring an entertainment center on the outside, the Pocket Office opens to reveal a natural, textured workstation that evokes comfort, sophistication and warmth. Designed with maximum productivity and flexibility in mind, the interior boasts two desk options – one for standing and one for sitting – as well as storage and power sources, and room for a standard size office chair and extra monitors. When a user is finished with work for the day, the Pocket Office closes, transforming into a thin entertainment center, allowing users to create mental and emotional separation from the day’s work.
“For the millions of us who have abruptly shifted to working from home and homeschooling, we wanted to create a spatial solution that was elegant, flexible and practical. Working from home seems like it’s here to stay, which means that we all will be demanding more from our spaces,” said Hasier Larrea, founder and CEO of Ori. “We want people to feel good in their homes and help them to achieve unparalleled functionality with their spaces. Temporary office setups can feel like they are 'borrowing space' from some other function of the apartment and make us feel like we can’t get away from our work. The Pocket Office was created to be a productivity refuge, giving us dedicated space to focus and get work done, but also allowing us to physically, mentally and emotionally 'close up shop' for the day, giving us all back our personal time and space.”
Ori turns standard single-use interior spaces into dynamic multi-functional spaces through beds that float, movable walls and gliding closets that expand and contract. Pocket Office was developed to provide all the features of a dream corner office that can be tucked away seamlessly to allow for a much needed separation between work and life. As our homes adapt to serve as offices and, for some, classrooms, Pocket Office will enhance productivity and improve emotional well-being by providing both a refuge during the day and a place to relax when the day is over.
Ori partners with real estate developers and designers to create building interiors that maximize the potential of usable space. Ori smart space solutions unlock additional square footage by transforming furniture with a simple command. Its current products include: the Studio Suite, a modular furniture solution that simulates the functionality of multiple rooms in a single, efficient space; the Pocket Closet, a shelving unit, entertainment console, drop down table, and spatial divider that expands into a walk-in closet; and the Cloud Bed (sofa edition), a King or Queen-sized bed that descends from the ceiling on command but serves as a sofa/living room during daytime use.
To date, Ori has raised more than $27 million in funding, including from Khosla Ventures, Sidewalk Labs (Alphabet), Ingka Group (IKEA) and Geolo Capital. The company is present in 20+ markets throughout the U.S. and Canada.
The Pocket Office is currently available for purchase by real estate developers and owners in two sizes: medium (six feet wide) and large (eight feet wide). For more information on the Pocket Office, please visit https://www.oriliving.com/products/pocket-office/explore.
