CAN Community Health Announces New Board Leadership

SARASOTA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CAN Community Health (CAN) is proud announce their newly elected board leaders Rev. Demetrius K. Jifunza (Chair) and Jackie Rogers (Vice-Chair); they will join Robert D. Nosal (Secretary) and Anthony J. Becich (Treasurer) who will continue to serve their terms.

Rev. Demetrius K. Jifunza, a pillar in our community, works with various leaders and public officials to correct our communities' inequities that affect the poor, under-served, and disadvantaged. He has tackled restoring felons’ voting rights, homelessness, and mental health issues, with efforts to make educating and spreading awareness about HIV. Jackie Rogers has been a part of the CAN family for over ten years, serving as CAN's CANDance Gala Chair. She also recently launched her wildly successful all-natural beauty line “House of Hilt.”

Rev. Jifunza succeeds Robert (Bob) E. Trisolini, who served three years as board chair and has been involved with CAN for over 20 years. Trisolini has been and continues to be an advocate for the HIV community. “It has been an honor to serve alongside such incredible group of board members,” said Trisolini. “I am unbelievably proud of our CEO, Richard E. Carlisle, who has led our organizations success from a small clinic on East Street in Sarasota to now the 2nd largest HIV service organization in the United States.”

CAN Community Health President and CEO Richard E. Carlisle states, “Bob has been a great board chair at a time when our organization was experiencing tremendous growth. His belief in our mission and our staff has strengthened the impact we have made in the communities we serve.”

“Rev. Jifunza is a respected member of our communities and has an unparalleled passion for the work we do. We are honored to have him as board chair, and I look forward to working with him in serving our mission,” Carlisle added.
