Gradable™ to Present Grain Carbon Scoring Program to California Air Resources Board

First-of-its-kind model provides unique win-win for farmers, grain buyers, consumers, and environment

SAN CARLOS, Calif. & CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Gradable, the leading technology and services provider for scoring, sourcing, and pricing Low-Carbon Grain from farm to fork, today announced it's been invited by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) to demonstrate how its program for scoring variable grain feedstock can help biofuel makers reduce their carbon intensity levels.

CARB implements clean air and climate policy for the State of California—typically setting the climate policy agenda for the rest of the U.S.—and only opens its rules and regulations up for modification every three years. Gradable is the only farm-level data technology company invited to present.

Gradable and FBNⓇ Head of Sustainable Business, Steele Lorenz, will present to CARB at 10:00 am PST on Thursday, October 15. He will be discussing the benefits of field-level carbon intensity scoring in setting clean air policies, such as California's Low Carbon Fuel Standard. Registration is open to the public and can be accessed here.

CARB's consideration of the Gradable model underscores how farmers, biofuel companies, and regulators are aligned in their goal to reduce agriculture’s carbon output. Importantly, Gradable’s program ensures that farmers are paid a premium for their Low-Carbon Grain, which incentivizes the entire grain supply chain for the benefit of everyone.
