Northwell Staff Receives One in a Million Award

NEW HYDE PARK, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Northwell Health staff are being honored with Multiplying Good’s One in a Million Award in recognition of the care they provided during New York’s coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

“At Northwell, our tireless and dedicated staff treated more than 77,000 people when New York was the COVID-19 epicenter. They worked through and beyond exhaustion to care for people in need,” said Michael Dowling, Northwell Health president and CEO. “I am humbled by our staff’s unyielding grit and compassion and I am proud that they are being recognized with this award.”

Northwell’s frontline staff cared for more COVID-19 patients than any other US health system and did so under heroic circumstances. From emergency medical technicians who manned the ambulances to phlebotomists deployed to drive thru testing sites, caregivers at hospitals and environmental services workers who kept everything clean, it was a true team effort.

The One in a Million Awards Campaign celebrates the millions whose acts of bravery, generosity and kindness are bringing the nation together in this time and, through recognition, inspire others to do the same. Awardees are featured on the campaign's website and social media, and provided a digital certificate.
