QLess Announces Strong Growth, Record New Customer Deals and Two Board Appointments

AI-driven mobile queue management platform selected by more than 500 government agencies, retailers and financial institutions across the globe

PASADENA, Calif.--()--QLess, a leading provider of digital line management solutions, today announced the appointment of Sam Kamel and John Kennedy to its Board of Directors. The addition of Kamel and Kennedy marks a significant year of growth for QLess. COVID-19 health and safety measures have accelerated demand for the company’s customer interaction management (CIM) tool, which virtually eliminates the need for lines, particularly in the retail, financial services, higher education, and government services industries. Through a dedicated online portal and mobile interface, QLess supports virtual check-ins with real-time SMS updates about wait times.

Kamel recently served as the CEO of iinside, a provider of motion analytics solutions for large public venues that merged with CrowdVision in May 2020. Under his leadership, the company's client base tripled, its partner sales quadrupled and revenue increased by 500 percent. Kamel is also an accomplished technology leader with start-up and Fortune 100 experience, including two IPOs and dozens of acquisitions. He launched one of the first ecommerce sites at Netscape and helped launch OfficeLive, which brought Microsoft into the world of cloud-based productivity solutions. He earned his MBA from Harvard University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Cornell.

Kennedy is a seasoned marketer, business strategist and c-suite executive who has served as Chief Marketing Officer for Xerox and the company's business services spin-off, Conduent. Prior to Xerox, he spent 18 years at IBM as a senior marketing executive where he made significant contributions supporting its successful pivot to becoming a data, analytics, and cognitive computing company. Kennedy received his MBA from Harvard University and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

“We are thrilled to welcome Sam and John to the QLess board,” said Kevin Grauman, CEO of QLess. “Their combined expertise in growing technology companies will help us continue to build on our recent successes in offering innovative customer interaction solutions to diverse industries.”

“As a lifelong innovator, I am excited to join the team at QLess,” said Kamel. “This is a remarkable period of growth for the company, and we see great potential for our queue management platform to take a leading role in enabling businesses to meet current public health challenges.”

“In the wake of COVID-19, virtual customer experiences are a priority for almost every kind of organization,” said Kennedy. “I look forward to helping QLess explore ways to capture this impressive demand and establish itself as the leader in customer interaction management.”
