LIVONA, Mich.--()--One local magnet manufacturer and distributer has developed a patent pending seasonal air solutions product that is like a “mask” for buildings in filtering out air particles efficiently and affordably.

Livonia-based AIROTRUSTTM LLC, a division of Storch Products Company, Inc., has developed an efficient and affordable line of air filter housing that magnetically attach to a standard 2 foot by 2 foot ceiling tile grid, an industry standard in many commercial and office buildings. This product can help companies comfortably welcome employees back to the office in the age of COVID-19 with a safer office environment designed to limit the number of foreign air particles that can lead to viruses and other issues while being used in conjunction with other PPE.

An AIROTRUST 2X2 housing unit works with any standard air filter of that size. AIROTRUST offers standard filter options from respected US manufacturers ranging from MERV 6 to an extreme MERV 15 to meet specific customer needs. MERV is an industry standard used to evaluate the efficiency of an air filter based on its effectiveness at trapping particles of various sizes.

The housing unit is equipped with high energy rare earth magnets, allowing it to snap into place over the ceiling grid in seconds without the need for any tools. The offering of filters will fit snugly into the AIROTRUST housing which is made from a durable, high impact polystyrene (HIPS). The unit is designed for durability and is intended to last for many years of service. All AIROTRUST housing units replaceable filter options are both manufactured in the United States.

The AIROTRUST Housing will be commercially ready for delivery by early September 2020. Pre-orders can be placed now at www.airotrust.com to ensure expedited delivery once the filters are commercially available. Turn Key packages start at under $200 and replacement filters are very affordable with an optional subscription service for customer convenience.

This “Made in the USA” patent pending product is a particularly ideal solution for industrial manufacturers, educational facilities, nursing homes, health care, office complexes, beauty salons, restaurants, or any employers or spaces that experience pollen, dust, lint, dust mites, debris, pet dander, car fumes, tobacco smoke, bacteria, virus carriers, small allergens and any other harmful debris that are airborne and can easily get into an HVAC system.

AIROTRUST President Matt Carr believes that the time is perfect to introduce this product to the marketplace. “This is like a mask for a building that comes with no controversy, because we all have a right to fresh air,” he said. “Additionally companies can spend tens of thousands of dollars on a system that no one can visually see and that many will question wither it has been properly maintained. This reasonably priced product gives peace of mind to everyone who sees it.”

Carr, who also serves as President for Storch Products in Livonia, said that within his network, he has found that other manufacturers are struggling to bring back some of their employees during the COVID-19 pandemic because of the worry of contagion.

“Whatever filters you use can now be installed directly over desks or common areas where a supply side vent or cold air return is present, and can help filter particles helping many companies get back on track to normal operations,” Carr said.

While the product was designed following the start of the pandemic, having these air filters strategically placed around a manufacturing or office setting can free indoor air from particles that trigger allergies, asthma and other health conditions common for many.

“This product can prove to your customers and your employees that their health and safety are your #1 priority. Visually displaying these devices allows everyone to see your commitment to their safety while remaining visually appealing,” said AIROTRUST General Manager Connor Papora.

Retailers also see significant value for this product, especially those that have been directly impacted by a loss of business during the pandemic. “Some of our customers have asked us what we’re doing to keep them as safe and healthy as possible if they did come in,” said Kaitlyn Griffin, manager of Hair Mechanix Salon in Livonia. “We deal with chemicals, fumes, and dust particles in the air. (Our customers) are excited to see what we have installed to help prevent them from (added exposure).”

Commerce Township retailer Blazing Bagels installed an AIROTRUST filter in its customer area to support a clean environment for employees and customers alike.

"Having an AIROTRUST filter installed gives me peace of mind to know that I'm doing everything I can to try and keep my employees and customers as safe as possible,” said Blazing Bagels owner Matt Pauls. “My customers are very happy to see this added level of security.”

Carr and Papora intend to continue to design additional products in the months and years ahead under the AIROTRUST brand to support industrial and commercial market demands.
