Pinnacle Treatment Centers Opens Opioid Addiction Treatment Program in Marion

Marion Treatment Services opens where the need is strong and when drug overdose-related visits to the ER are increasing in the state

MARION, Ohio--()--Pinnacle Treatment Centers, a leader in providing accessible, affordable treatment for individuals struggling with substance use disorders, has opened Marion Treatment Services in North-Central Ohio on Tuesday, August 25, 2020. Located at 1581 Marion-Waldo Road, Unit 710, in Marion, the program serves as Pinnacle’s 14th outpatient opioid addiction treatment center in the state and opens at a time when drug rehab is much needed.

Pinnacle also operates two Recovery Works facilities in Ohio—a newly opened detox unit in Ravenna and a residential treatment center in Columbus with an outpatient counseling center and recovery residences. Pinnacle’s expansion in the state illustrates its commitment to driving care deep into communities in need.

Opioid treatment programs like Marion provide the full range of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) services, including FDA-approved medicines methadone and buprenorphine to curb withdrawal symptoms from heroin and opioid addiction; prevent relapse; and help ease the physical discomfort that comes with opioid recovery. In addition to medication, services include individual and group counseling offered as part of a holistic approach to patient care.

As the coronavirus continues to spread and disrupt countless industries, one thing that hasn’t been interrupted is the opioid crisis. In fact, experts have seen a rise in overdoses since the pandemic began, attributing the cause to increased stress, boredom and isolation. The combination of the three, especially for individuals living alone, can be incredibly dangerous for someone battling addiction.

“Now more than ever, it is crucial for us to remember that addiction is still a severe problem nationwide and particularly in states like Ohio. While the coronavirus pandemic is certainly top of mind, we can’t forget those who are especially vulnerable to the isolating disease of addiction,” said Pinnacle Treatment Centers CEO Joe Pritchard, who celebrates 45 years in recovery and often shares his story to inspire others. “Marion is an area of Ohio that has been in desperate need of services for so long. We’re here to help transform and restore lives.”

For years, Ohio has been on the frontlines of the opioid crisis. According to the Ohio Department of Health, after nine months of seeing emergency department visits related to overdose steadily decrease, there was a sudden surge in admits from April to May of this year—from 2,868 cases in April to 3,666 in May. For public health officials, it’s an issue that needs attention and resources.

“In these trying times, we’re grateful to be able to provide services to those in need and help make a difference in the recovery process,” said Kevin Ballentine, MSW, LCDC III, executive director, Marion Treatment Services. “We are dedicated to providing a kind, professional environment with quality resources and care for our patients at any point in their recovery journey.”

Research shows that the integration of both behavioral and pharmacologic therapy is the most effective approach to overcoming opioid addiction. Pinnacle bases its approach off of comprehensive evidence-based treatments to provide the most effective quality of care.

Marion Treatment Services accepts Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, and offers reasonable self-pay rates. The center is open Mondays through Fridays, 6 a.m.- 2 p.m., and on Saturdays, 6 a.m.- 9 a.m. Anyone needing a free confidential assessment can call 740-375-7814.

Driven by its mission, Pinnacle Treatment Centers aims to make recovery possible by transforming lives, communities and families with treatment that works. Striving to create a professional and caring environment for their patients, all locations include credentialed physicians, nurses, clinicians, administrative and support staff.
