Popular Headless Content Management System Strapi Now Available with Advanced Capabilities and Enterprise Support

Strapi Enterprise Edition beta adds Role-Based Access Control capabilities for security and governance

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Strapi, the company spearheading the development of the most popular open-source headless content management system (CMS), today announced beta availability of enterprise editions that add Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) capabilities needed by enterprises for security and governance.

The Enterprise Edition beta comes on the heels of the announcement of the general availability of the Community Edition and can be deployed anywhere: public or private cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Digital Ocean), Platform-as-a-Service (Heroku, Platform.sh, etc) or on-premise servers.

Long popular with individuals and businesses alike -- with nearly 2 million downloads on the Node JavaScript platform (NPM) -- the release of these paid plans is a major step towards making Strapi fully ready for enterprise adoption. With more than 27,000 stars and 450 external contributors on GitHub, and more than 300 community plug-ins published on NPM, Strapi already has a large and active community of users and businesses that have already battle-tested Strapi in production at scale.

“Our monetization strategy includes three key ingredients: new enterprise differentiating features; a robust partner program that we plan to roll out later this year; and availability of Strapi support services,” said Pierre Burgy, co-founder, and CEO of Strapi. “We are developing Strapi Enterprise Edition in the open, in collaboration with our partners and customers, and remain fully committed to delivering value to the Strapi open source community and ecosystem.”

With the new role-based access control feature, enterprises have full command over the privileges a user or group of users should have to do their job. It is highly customizable, providing administrators with a high level of granularity in order to define a set of actions that users should be allowed to perform on their own for various types of content or settings.

The Enterprise Edition is available in two self-hosted paid plans: Silver and Gold. The Silver plan starting price for an unlimited number of users is $299 per month per project, which comes with basic support, as well as online training for developers and content editors. The Gold plan includes a higher level of support with a Service Level Agreement and a dedicated Customer Success Manager to provide guidance on Strapi project architecture, deployment, and hosting, as well as identification of potential workarounds for features that may not yet be available. Pricing is dependent on specific terms and size of the deployment.
