Health Net Appoints Kerri Balbone as Chief Operating Officer

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, Health Net, LLC announced the appointment of Kerri Balbone as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Health Net of California and California Health & Wellness. She brings twenty-five years of broad-based experience in the healthcare industry to the company, spanning multiple facets of business operations and development. Most recently, Balbone served as COO, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of California, where she drove operational entrance into the California market, as well as service expansion and other accomplishments.

During her long tenure at United Healthcare, Balbone held a variety of leadership posts, including National VP of Provider Experience & Network Services and National VP of Provider Relations. Her prior experience includes more than a decade of service at Oxford Health Plan where she earned a series of promotions in the company’s technology, operations, network development and medical affairs departments.

In addition to a career in an industry dedicated to helping others, Balbone also believes in the value of public service. Balbone recently began serving as a Public Safety Commissioner for the City of West Hollywood, California. She is also an active volunteer with the Los Angeles LGBT Center and the Los Angeles Foodbank.

Balbone replaces Bob O’Brien who is retiring after a thirty-seven year career as a healthcare executive, including the last two and a half years as COO of Health Net.
